Description
2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War, which was fought from June 5-10, 1967 in the Middle East. To commemorate that Third Arab-Israeli War, Dragon has been releasing an ongoing series of 1/35 scale kits featuring armored fighting vehicles that participated in the conflict. The next one is a 1/35 Panzer IV Medium Tank from the Arab side. It has been updated with new components like the MG mount and a new storage box on left fender to match its service in Arab forces. This special Panzer IV is most definitely a ONE-OFF item, and customers won't be able to obtain it ever again. To ensure modelers get hold of this special release of Arab AFVs, modelers will have to spring into action immediately!
Prototype Information:
"The last appearance by WWII German tanks on the worlds battlefields came in 1967, when Syrias panzer force faced off against modern Israeli armor. Quite improbably, Syria had assembled its collection of ex-Wehrmacht vehicles from a half-dozen sources over a decade and a half timeframe... All of the Panzer IVs Syria used had the long-barrel version of the Rheinmetall KwK 40 gun which could penetrate a M4 Shermans armor at ranges up to 1,000 yards under ideal circumstances. The WWII-era TZF.5f gunsight was retained by the Syrians. A full ammo load was 87 rounds." - wwiiafterwwii.wordpress.com
